Short-Term Study Scholarship at National Taiwan University
- Eligibility
Students currently enrolled at Indiana University, with preference given to students who have taken at least two years of Chinese at Indiana University, who are majoring or minoring in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures, and who have a CGPA of at least 3.000 - Quota
12 students per semester for short-term study (2 or 3 months) - Benefits and Requirements
You may choose to study at either the International Chinese Language Program (ICLP) or the Chinese Language Division (CLD), both of which belong to NTU. Date ranges for ICLP and CLD Programs are:
Tuition costs can be found on the program websites. Applicants are eligible for scholarships paid by both IU and NTU. Scholarship recipients will probably receive between approximately $800 and $1,100 per month (USD) for a maximum of three months to offset program costs. Actual scholarship amounts will depend on the number of program participants. Scholarship awardees are required to spend approximately six hours per week participating in the “Hands Together” service learning program at a local elementary or middle school.ICLP

Participating students will be directly granted up to 12 IU credits of Chinese language courses. - Application Deadline

Please submit the following to ealc@indiana.edu (Subject: Your Name’s application for NTU scholarship):- One page that includes the following information:
- Your name
- The degree/major you are pursuing, and current year of study, and
- A brief (approximately 300 words) study plan explaining your interest in studying at either the ICLP or CLD, your experience studying Chinese, and what you hope to gain from studying in Taiwan;
- A copy of your current academic transcript (unofficial student copies are acceptable);
- If you have never studied Chinese, one letter of recommendation from an Indiana University instructor.
- One page that includes the following information:
