We are in the process of restructuring our MA and PhD degrees. EALC will offer the MA in EALC, with options to concentrate on Language Pedagogy of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, or multidisciplinary Chinese/Japanese/Korean studies. We also offer a PhD degree in EALC, under which students can pursue PhD education in Chinese, Japanese, or Korean studies. If you have any questions about graduate offerings in East Asian Languages and Cultures at IU or how to apply, please feel free to contact the EALC Director of Graduate Studies, Dr. Nick Vogt at pnvogt@iu.edu, and Katie LaPadula, HLS Director of Graduate Student Services, at hlsgrad@iu.edu.
Thank you for your interest in graduate study at Indiana University’s East Asian Languages and Cultures Department—part of the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies! These pages will serve as your guide to applying for our MA or PhD degrees.
