Bio
Keiko Hata is Visiting Assistant Professor of Japanese in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Indiana University. Dr. Hata conducts research in Japanese language pedagogy, second language acquisition, and second language processing. Her research focuses on how learners of Japanese use information from the particles and how cognitive science may assist in learning foreign languages. Dr. Hata teaches courses in Japanese language and Japanese Linguistics. Before coming to Indiana, she taught Japanese language at various levels at University of Hawaii at Manoa and other universities in the U.S. and Japan.
