Benjamin Blythe

Benjamin is a graduate student pursuing a Master of Arts in East Asian Studies. He is also pursuing a Master of Public Affairs at the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. Before coming to Indiana University, Benjamin received a B.A. in Political Science at the University of Michigan and taught English at Universiti Sains Malaysia. His current research focuses on East, Southeast Asian, and South Asian affairs and international development. Previously, Benjamin conducted research on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor through the Tobias Center for Innovation in International Development and serves as a teaching assistant for undergraduate courses in O’Neill. He has also previously assisted with EALC faculty research on Taiwanese foreign relations and tutored for Indiana University’s Summer Chinese Workshop. In previous summers, Benjamin completed policy analysis internships with the US-ASEAN Business Council and the U.S. Commercial Service. He is currently working on his graduate thesis that will compare Japanese and Chinese overseas infrastructure development models in Southeast Asia.
