Yutong Feng (冯语彤) is a first-year Ph.D. student in Chinese Linguistics at Dr. Lin's Language and Cognition lab. She grew up in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, China, and speaks the Wenzhou dialect (温州话). Her research focuses on exploring how second language learners process Chinese classifiers using corpus linguistic methods and psycholinguistic experimental tools. She is also interested in interdisciplinary studies related to second language acquisition, translation, psychology, and cognitive science. Yutong received her bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from Kean University in Wenzhou and her master’s degree in Chinese with a focus on pedagogy from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She has several years of experience teaching English as a second language in China, intermediate-level Chinsentese at UMass Amherst, and working as a bilingual preschool assistant teacher in Massachusetts. Yutong is also passionate about global communication and cultural events, having served as a Chinese committee member in the European Youth Event and as a Chinese-European culture youth ambassador. She works actively to promote Chinese languages and culture.
