Yutong Feng (冯语彤) is a Ph.D. student in Chinese Linguistics, working at Dr. Lin's Language and Cognition lab. She grew up in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province, China, speaking the Wenzhou dialect (温州话). Her research mainly explores native speakers’ and second language learners’ output of Chinese classifiers by using corpus linguistic methods and psycholinguistic experimental tools. She is also interested in interdisciplinary studies related to second language acquisition, translation, psychology, and brain science. Yutong received her bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from Kean University in Wenzhou and her master’s degree in Chinese with a focus on pedagogy from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She has several years of experience teaching English as a second language in China, intermediate-level Chinese at UMass Amherst, and working as a bilingual preschool assistant teacher in Massachusetts. Yutong works actively to promote Chinese languages and cultures in global communication. She served as a committee member of China in the European Youth Event and as a Chinese-European culture youth ambassador.
