I am Xiaotian Liu 刘笑甜 from China and I am doing my PhD at EALC majoring in Chinese Pedagogy and minoring in Linguistics. I got my B.A. from Minzu University of China majoring in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (2015) and my M.A. from Beijing Normal University majoring in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics (2018). My research interest lies in Chinese morphology, syntax, and semantics, Chinese dialect grammar, and teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages. Besides study and research, teaching is also a big part of my PhD life. I started teaching Chinese from my second year of study at BNU in 2016. I worked as a lecturer in BNU semester course Chinese speaking/reading and writing/listening 201 (2016-2017; 2019-2020). I also worked as a foreign language TA at Bucknell University (PA) from 2018-2019, teaching Second-year Chinese. I have also taught in summer Chinese programs such as Princeton in Beijing (2017), Seoul National University in Beijing (2016), University of California in Beijing (2016), and Summer Chinese Workshop at IU (2022&2024). Now I am working as an AI teaching first-, third-, and fifth-year Chinese at EALC. I enjoy cooking, photography, and singing in my daily life.
